• Portfolio - MARDAN PALACE RESORT AQUARIUM, ANTALYA, TURKEY

In 2006 ICM/Reynolds sub-contracted Oceana for the rockwork of this large project.
The task was to decorate four 25 Mt long marine aquariums for the restaurant and the 7 Mt. long marine aquarium for the Waterfall Bar.

The total volume of the project was 400.000 gallons of salt water.
The restaurant’s tanks were visible also by the people standing and swimming in the outside pool, increasing the challenge and difficulty of the decoration of the tanks.

The theme of two coral reefs, a Ship Wreck and a Temperate Ocean was chosen for the four restaurant tanks; a super high density coral reef was constructed for the Waterfall Bar Tank.

A 1:10 scale models were constructed by Oceana on the guideline of sketches supplied by ICM. The client approved the models in September 2006.
The construction of the four large exhibits for the restaurant, plus the sizeable Bar Tank, were completely pre-fabricated in our factory in South Africa in less than 4 months: 25 working days per aquarium.

After a successful inspection by ICM in South Africa, the exhibitry was container shipped to Turkey and the installation on site started only on June 2007 due to delay in general building construction.

It took us less than 10 working days per aquarium to achieve installation on site.
The installation of the five tanks was successfully completed by the end of July 2007.
The grand opening of the Hotel is scheduled for the summer 2008
